Our Catholic Identity

Our Catholic Identity

Our school motto is ‘Walk with God’. Our motto comes from the old testament scripture within the Book of Micah, in which we are called to do what is just, to show constant love and to live humble fellowship with our God.

St Laurence’s Parish School in its present form is the amalgamation of St Joseph’s, Sacred Heart and St Laurence’s which took place in 1989. Since the very first Catholic school in Forbes opened in 1862, the Parish has seen the involvement of the Sisters of St Joseph, the Sisters of Mercy, the Marist Brothers and laity in delivering educational instruction.

Faith, Learning, and Transformation
We offer students and their families the experience of a Catholic community and education focused on faith, learning, and transformation in Jesus Christ. Our school provides a range of activities that focus on the spiritual and character development of students whilst inviting them to grow in relationship with God and each other to find meaning and purpose in their lives.

We recognise and respect the fact that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. It is our great privilege to be invited to share their responsibility. It is a sacred commitment and we strive to provide best practice in every aspect of care.
