How to enrol in a Catholic school

We recognise that this is one of the most important decisions as parents or carers, you will ever have to make. However, you can rest assured that our primary schools offer a nurturing, encouraging and safe environment to learn, achieve and grow academically, spiritually, physically and emotionally from Kindergarten to Year 6. Thank you for taking the first step in considering a Catholic education for your child in Wilcannia-Forbes.

You can view the list of schools under the ā€œSchoolsā€ tab to find your closest Catholic school. Alternatively, you can call the Catholic Education Office on (02) 6853 9300 to enquire.

To enrol your child at one of our schools, contact the school you have chosen and request an Enrolment Pack. Complete the enrolment form and provide all required documentation directly to the school.

Applicants are asked to attend an interview with the Principal. Interviews begin in Term 1 or 2, and continue through to Term 3 depending on the applications received.

Parents/carers receive an offer of a place at the school in writing in Term 3.

Orientation for students will be held in Term 3 or 4 depending on the school.

When is the enrolment period?

Catholic schools accept enrolments at any time of the school year and you are encouraged to enquire about any availability should you wish to have your child attend a Catholic school mid-way through the year.

However, enrolments into Catholic schools for the following year take place between February and June each year.

How old does my child need to be to enrol in Kindergarten?

Children who turn five years old on or before July 31 are eligible for enrolment into Kindergarten for that year.
